Football is not going to be completely banned but some major changes need to be made to make sure players are kept safe. “On average a player gets their brain racked against their skull 1,000 times in their career (Jenkins, Sally).” According to studies by the NFL, professors and medical doctors, the trauma caused by concussions can lead to a horrific list of medical problems for many players, especially once retired. Changing the rules and giving proper training to coaches and players can prevent retired football players from feeling horrible every day they wake up. These players have families and they are effected by the injuries too. When the children’s father struggles with depression and pain they cannot really “be there” for their kids like they need to be. When someone struggles with depression they want to be distant from people and want to be alone. Which then can lead to suicidal thoughts. There have been quite a few stories of retired football players that have committed suicide. These players left behind their wives and kids. Leaving their kids with no father figure and their wives a widow at a young age. Player’s bodies hurt so bad that they cannot even pick up their children.
