Persuasive Essay “Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock!” The afraid and confused teen sits in the guidance counselor's office, staring at the clock shaking. “Now can you please explain to me why have you been missing school?” The concern guidance counselor said. “I just found out I am pregnant.” Everyday teen girls discover they are pregnant and the schools they attend are aware. Students should be able to get condoms from school because it can decrease teen pregnancies, prevent STD’s, and decreases the number of teens being bullied.
Condoms are thin rubber sheath worn on a man's penis during sexual intercourse as a contraceptive or as protection against infection. Experts say, Charles Goodyear invented vulcanization, which is a process that hardens rubber and makes it flexible. The first condom was reusable and cost about one dollar during the Civil War. This condom prevented Syphilis in the Brothels (SheKnows). Over centuries, condoms have changed to ensure that people are protected during sexual intercourse. But why not educate our youth on protected sex by giving them the tools they need in order to be protected at all times? Condoms are not always 100% safe, while trying to prevent risky consequences, schools are adding on to the consequences (ABCNews). Teenager’s key life values will also be ignored because giving students condoms is allegedly giving them the mindset that they can have sex with anyone. Teens are irresponsible and independent, but they are still underage and will not make intelligent decisions when it comes to sex. They will have sex if they want too with or without condoms, so why should schools spend their money on condoms for
