If there are no entertaining activities the children will become bored and start to act out. My goal was to prevent that. Their goals were to not have any work to do. They used face saving tactics by resisting intimidation. They stood up and said that they didn’t know although they were in the wrong. I also refused to step back because it upset and frustrated me thinking they were completely wrong. After the conflict ended I then became aware of other goals that we had. I had never been asked to take on the roles of planning their activities or preparing them but I did anyways. I took on the responsibility of taking over to make myself look better than others. I would show the teachers that I was a hard worker and dedicated to making sure the children had proper activities. I showed collaborative goals, my short term goal was looking good in that moment for the teachers but my long term goal was to be able to reference how I handled this conflict in the future when we had our interviews for the Human Ecology scholarship.
