The Conflict of Good versus Evil in Flannery O’ Connor’s, “A Good Man is Hard to Find.”
The idea of good versus evil is one that everyone has come across during their lives. The story “A Good Man is hard to Find,” by Flannery O’ Connor provides perfect examples of this conflict, Good versus Evil, throughout. The story is about a family which consists of the Stubborn Grandmother, her son and his wife, and their three children, who are all going on vacation. They are going to Florida, but Grandma wants to go to Tennessee instead, because there is a Mistfit who escaped from prison and is on the loose in Florida, and she did not want to come across him. Well it so happens they do cross paths when the family ends up in a car accident, at which time examples of Good versus Evil are displayed. Grandma and the “Misfit” are used throughout the story to provide examples of Good versus Evil and varying degrees of severity that the idea can represent.
During the car accident that occurred because of Grandma, and her uninvited cat, the family ends up meeting the Misfit and his crew. He orders the other men to take the family into the woods and kill them, except for the Grandmother. She pleads

Grandma being unkind throughout the story, but letting her good side out at the end was a minuet conflict. On the other hand, the Misfit dealing with the inner conflict of being good and then becoming evil and committing murder was a more serious example. Both experienced the same conflict, with one of them knowing they were good and turned evil, and the other becoming good during a tough time without realizing. This story is a perfect example that all different types of people experience the conflict of Good versus Evil, and in different ways.
