As numerous different groups of people made their way to the New World, they set up communities that in Colonial America that were places of conflict. As colonists continued to file into the Americas, communities started to develop. As the 18th century approached, these communities started to grow into places of conflict. Disagreement over religion, government, social equality, and personal beliefs began to bring about great conflict within the growing communities of the New World. Smallpox, dysentery, and other diseases continued to take their toll on the communities within the colonies. To make matters worse, conflict starting to arise between the colonists. Religion was a major discrepancy within the colonies. Many reasons for the pursuit of the New World were for religious toleration. Many found nothing but more discrimination within their communities. Communities started to argue over which form of government for best suited for their community. Many were in favor of the Regulatory Movement, which wanted to get rid of English rule within the colonies and reach a more democratic society while others wished for the monarchial rule from the mainland across the Atlantic Ocean. Social classes became a talk around the community no matter which colony a settler was located. The lack of freedom amongst African Americans and Indians, the little rights that women possessed, and the different levels of prestige that colonists earned based on their occupation or wealth. As slaves were under the complete control of their white masters, they had to form some way of communication and they did so by inventing the language of Gullah. It provided them with a sort of security and way of reassuring and connecting with the fellow slaves. As the slave numbers increased, it caused even more conflict within the colonies by constantly posing the threat of a rebellion due to the ratio of slaves to
