As a former part of the debate team of Conroe High School. On September 12 was my first time I was going to have a scrimmage. A scrimmage meant I had to present my case to a judge and defend it from my opponents. My opponents were the debate team from Oak ridge High School.

As I arrived to my debate class my teacher told me to get ready to debate and present my case to a judge. I was going to have a practice round with the debate team from Conroe High School however , the debate team team from Oak Ridge was already here and ready to begin. I was nervous to begin because I didn't know what to do; I was shaking. I knew in that moment I had to listen and pay attention to what was going to happen next.

As soon as my partner and I sat down next to our opponents and the judge I started to panic I wasn't sure if I was ready. I began to read my case and then all of a sudden I didn't feel scared or nervous anymore;I began to read loud and confidently I knew in that moment that I knew what I was doing. I felt sure of what I was saying. I remember seeing my judge’s face being so surprised and as I spoke she was writing down all the important things I was saying in my speech.
