The world we live in is a very diverse place. There are many different people all around the world. This world offers different religions, races, genders, cultures, sexual orientations and etc. With these different variations of people come different beliefs and morals. Many people believe that their way of living is the right way and others are not. Some people who believe this way go on to do very dangerous things to other people who don’t believe the way they do. Hate Crimes are the result of this way of thinking. Hate crimes are very serious and come with huge consequences. The Roman Empire is one of the first known groups that committed hate crimes. The Roman Empire would help commit crimes against different religions. Another notorious hate crime group was the Nazi’s in Germany during World War II. During the Nazi’s reign in Germany during WW2 they were responsible for the deaths of over six million Jews. This reign of terror was known as the holocaust. The leader of the Nazi group was Adolf Hitler. The Nazi’s reign ended when the allied forces invaded Germany. Lastly another notorious group associated with hate crimes are the Klu Klux Klan. The KKK is a hate group who feels white heritage is under attack due to different cultures, races, and religions. There are many different statistics that go into hate crimes. People who commit hate crimes do it to people that are not like them or something they don’t agree with. As of 2013 there were 6,933 cases of hate crimes. The seven most common reasons for hate crime were researched by the FBI in 2013. The seven causes were race, sexual orientation, religious reasons, ethnicity, disability, gender. Race was the highest cause of hate crime collected by the FBI with 3,407. The second highest cause was second highest cause was sexual orientation with 1,402 cases. Gender identity was the least common hate crime collected. With all the cases that were gathered 63.9 percent of the cases were against people. 35 percent of the other cases were property crimes like vandalism and damage to business and
