In the short story “Contents of a Dead Man’s Pocket” Tom Benecke learns a lot about what his own ambition did to him. Tom is faced with a lot of decisions. In this story Tom is ambitious, self centered, and impatient. These traits change throughout this story. In this short story it shows how just a single step can change your life.
