A level of Hell that represents contrapasso is in the first circle. The first circle is Limbo and i believe that it does not fit the punishment. In the first circle they are being punished for being born before Christ. Those who are in the first circle are not even sinners. They happened to be there for a wrong reason not being able to help the fact that they were born before Christ. Three philosophers that Aristotle, Hector, Virgil, and Cejar.
On Canto IV Dante said,”That they sinned not; and if they merit had, Tis not enough, because they had not baptism, which is the portal of the Faith thou father, they sinned not; and if they merit had, ‘Tis not enough…”( Canto 4 Lines 31-35). The point for them being punished is not a goof of a reason.
