What comes to mind when I think V for Vendetta is about I think of control and freedom.
Throughout the novel control is brought up with the government. The government controls everything and everyone. You can’t escape the strong grip of the government secret police the finger. The one person who escaped the government was a man name V and he used every ounce of blood and sweat to take down the government and try to regain freedom not just for himself but for the people of England. Who have been controlled most of their life. No matter how much the government came to him to try to destroy him. He out did the government every step of his life. Without the strong hold of the government people can thrive on freedom and not fear on the idea. The less culture that citizens have the more control the government has over them. “They eradicated some cultures more thoroughly than they did other. No Tamla and no Trojan, No Billie Holiday or black Uhuru. Just his master’s voice every hour on the hour.” (Moore 19) The government wanted to have a central control. In which only bits of cultures were allowed. The government wanted to be the center point of the people. By doing so the people had less power. Throughout the first chapter of the novel I noticed tidbits where the government would have so much control that people would follow everything the government said to do. With the control of the citizens of England the government ran everything. After a certain time of shying away from the punishment of the government. People started to rebel and further more freedom was regained by the people. It doesn’t matter how much control the government has on the people there was always be a time where freedom is
