Alexander walked into the kitchen, his nose stuck in a book. “Hey, G3. What’s for dinner?” George smiled sourly. “I’m making Washington’s favorite: Peanut soup.” “That’s nice.” Alex nodded, preoccupied with the latest controversy. George took advantage of his absent-mindedness to slip sleeping pills into Alex’s bowl. He slid the bowl in front of the teenager. “Careful, it’s hot.” He prepared another bowl to bring up to the retired General. “Don’t let your dinner get cold, Alexander.” “I won’t,” Alex waved George out the kitchen door. The sly butler chuckled, more than ready to get rid of that annoyance. He climbed the stairs and knocked on the door to Washington’s quarters. “Come in.” Washington permitted. “I have your dinner, sir.” George placed the tray of soup on Washington’s desk.
