Cognitive dissonance is when a person is having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs, or attitudes that relates to behavior changes. An example would be when a student believes that cheating is the wrong decision to make, yet he cheats on a test. He would develop anxiety because he did something that went against his beliefs and will try to change. Conformity is when someone is in complianced with laws or rules. An example would be if everyone in the room except one person believes that something is red and that one person thinks that it is a bergundy, that person will conform to the majority of the group. Incentive motivation is when there is an award for a person to do something so that person has the drive to do that something. Negative reinforcement is when something gets taken away due to a behavior and that behavior will increase because of this. People will increase this behavior because the person wants that something to go away. A physiological addiction is when a person has to continue a certain thing or drug because if they do not, they will develop pain in their body due to the absence of this drug. Cognitive dissonance relates to a smoking habit because a person could believe that smoking is detrimental. If the person decides to smoke, this increases the level of anxiety in the person and the only way to decrease it would be to change their belief. Conformity could relate to the smoking habit because a person could be in a group with a bunch of others that are smoking. The person will smoke too because they want to fit in and be apart of the group. Incentive motivation could lead toa
