Nursing is more than just a profession; it is a purpose, which gives fulfillment in helping those in need. My belief is providing care that encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual needs. A holistic approach is a value that I hold true in all aspects of life. Values are an important part of nursing, and following what you believe in not only provides optimal care for others, but self-care for yourself. Core nursing values include compassion, honesty, commitment, empathy, equality, unprejudiced, and most of all integrity. These values allow the ability to provide patient care to the best scope of practice, advance knowledge and skills, and promote healing.
