Hair and makeup have always been important factors in my life. For that reason, I choose cosmetology as my career. I look at this career like any other, you have to put effort and passion into it. My passion is not about covering up your natural skin but by enhancing your features. That goes with hair as well, I want people to feel comfortable with the hair they were given. This career is all about making people look and feel their best.
Cosmetology is the study and application of beauty treatment. A cosmetologist someone who is an expert in the care of hair, makeup, skincare, nails and beauty products. They can also offer other services such as coloring, extensions, perms and straightening. I personally am more interested in the hair and makeup part of the program. This institute offers many programs such as phlebotomy, electrical, cosmetology, massage, and much more. The requirements for this specific school are pretty basic. You will need a high school diploma first off. Then you will proceed through the application process online or on paper. Once you are accepted, you will be asked to come in for an interview at LBI. If you get to the next step, you will receive the Wonderlic SLE Examination and have to score a minimal of a 14. Once you pass the test you will be ready to start your schooling.
There is no specific reason why I like this career. Like I’ve said before, just the fact of making someone look and feel their best is all worth it for me. Hair is just a big thing for me because I always had to keep my hair short over the years. Now that its long I love finding new ways I can style and color it. Makeup as well is very huge because I love enhancing my features. The more training and practice you have in this area then that is the more money you can charge for your services.
