According to Abigail Hess, news associate, “Over 44 million Americans hold a total of $1.4 trillion in student loan debt.” People have been having a hard time paying for college since they don’t have enough money to make it through the school year. It all relates back to how much money you can make from a job, but more importantly if you have any money that has been saved for college beforehand. Some people might say that this shouldn’t happen because college students should have enough money to sustain themselves from a job. The cost of going to college should be lowered so more people could have the chance to go to college and be able to survive after college.
One of the most important reasons why the price should be lowered for college is that more people would be able to go to. According to Julia Margetta Morgan, policy analyst,“The president is addressing a major concern for American families today—75 percent of Americans say college is too expensive.” From this example, it is clear that more people would be able to go to college since the price would be lowered, which would offer poorer families a chance at college. In conclusion, people would get greater chances at college if the prices were lowered.
