The company I have selected for insights into a business operating in a Foreign country is Costco Wholesale. Costco Wholesale is and American membership only warehouse club that provides a wide selection of merchandise plus the convenience of specialty departments and exclusive member services. It is the largest member only warehouse club in the United States and the 2nd largest retailer in the world. Costco Wholesale is a multi-billion-dollar global retailer with warehouse club operations in eight countries.
The company began with Sol Price and his son, Robert opening the first price club warehouse on July 12, 1976.
Costco Wholesale senior management team consists of Craig Jelinek President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Costco Wholesale Corporation.

Sinegal co-founder and former director of Costco Wholesale. James D Sinegal was the Chief Executive officer of the company until he retired on December 31, 2011. He was also president until February 2010. James attended San Diego State University. He started as a grocery bagger at Fedmart in 1954. During his time at Fedmart he worked his way up to Executive Vice President in charge of merchandising and operations. He was Vice President of merchandising for Builders Emporium from 1977-78. He then became Vice president for the Price company from 1978-79. He served as Costco’s CEO and president form1983 until 2012. Although Sinegal is retired he played a very important role in Costco’s success a company. He currently remains on Costco’s board of directors. Jim Sinegal is an innovator, he made Costco the first warehouse club to include fresh food, eye care, clinics, pharmacies, and gas stations in its mix of goods and services. Not only was he an innovator in the retail world and believed in treated his employees. He believes employees who are treated well in turn, treat/serve customers well.
