No matter how civilized you may seem, everyone has a monster inside of them. In the story “The Lord of the Flies”, this statement is proven. The author, William Golding, uses multiple craft moves to make his story unique and interesting. The most common pattern of craft moves was when he would show the reader inside the minds of multiple characters, rather than just one main character. “The Lord of the Flies” is a story about a group of kids who are marooned on an uncharted island, and all adults that were on the plane were dead. At first, all of the boys celebrate their freedom, but certain events, such as a raging fire and the disappearing of a little boy moves the kids back to reality and realize that they are in great danger. The boys, over time, eventually turn into savages and rip another kid apart with their own hands and teeth.
