The film I chose for my Film Analysis is Crazy, Stupid Love. This movie follows the love lives of Cal Weaver (Steve Carrell), Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling), Hanna Weaver (Emma Stone) and Emily Weaver (Julianne Moore). Cal and Emily begin the movie off by having a pseudo-romantic dinner, during which Emily and Cal are talking over each other, not out of malice but simply because they are not on the same page. Emily cuts through the babble by announcing that she would like a divorce. Cal is completely shocked, not having expected this at all. After what he assumed to be a happy marriage of twenty years has come to an end in light of Emily’s affair with her coworker.
