Creatine is produced in the body as a result of the synthesis of arginine and glycine, two amino acids found in the liver, pancreas and kidneys. Creatine is then transported via diffusion, in the blood to other tissues most especially muscle and brain where it is catalyzed by creatine kinase and then converted to creatine phosphate; a high source of energy.

Creatine can be found naturally in meat, vegetables and various means of supplementation. Creatine major function is that it is a high source of energy. Also, creatine helps in the increase of muscle mass in professional and amateur body builders.
