The ships were coming in to the harbor. The sun glistened off the water. The day was warm, yet there was a breeze, as always in the harbor of Sunnyvale. Mantis stood looking out at the ships, wishing that he could be on one of them. That he could sail off to another county, to see a world that he had never known. Someone called his name and pulled him out of his head.
“Hamunous, Mantis,” yelled Caroline, as she strolled up to him, “are you going to the meeting tonight?”

She turned to go, but then turned back to watch Mantis walk down the street lost in thought. He was quite, reserved, layback, yet she knew that whatever he believe in he would support it. She sighed and entered the store.

He entered and went to sit in the kitchen where a fire was still burning. Mantis thought how he could do this. What made him think that this could work or happen. Why would they choose him, he would not know what to do. He knew that Caroline thought he could, but he not sure. He knew that he not the only one, but still. What if he fail, what if is his fault that they cannot do the mission. Yet even as he thought this, he sat up and squared his shoulders it did not matter know if he thought that he was capable, he was part of it now. He would try to do what he thought was right and see how it faired. So he stood and went to bed.
The next day dawned bright and fair, Mantis woke and walked down stairs to find his parents eating breakfast. He grabbed a plate of the warm food on the stove. He sat down at the table and he had hardly started eating, before his mother asked him, “How was the meeting last
