The psychology terms began to flood her mind as the heart rate machine gave a steady beat to her studying. It felt like every five minutes someone came over the intercom and called for a doctor and all she wanted to do was leave. The doctor came and checked in around 8:30, changing the medicine bag and wrote something. She walked over and sat in the chair next to the girl. “How old are you?” She closed the book slowly making the page. the silence caused the air in the room to become thick. The other doctor stepped forward and push Dr. Williams aside. “Your parents aren’t going, to tell the truth, and I don’t want to interrogate an eight-year-old boy. Do you parent beat you both or just him” “You're the one reading me why don’t you tell me.”
Stevie crossed her arms in front of her chest and leaned on one foot. It felt like the world went quiet and everyone was staring at me. “When you get nervous you pull on your sleeves, so I assume you have bruises on your arm or you're used to having bruises there.”
The doctor grabbed her wrist and pulled up her sleeve. Her pale arm was decorated with blue and purple polka dots. She yanked her arm back and glared at him taking two steps back before trying to escape to her brother’s hospital. She slipped in and found her backpack. Pulling out her headphones and grabbed her Psych book.
