I left Independence early to get headed of the crowd. As I left the entrance of Independence, I saw a bunch of people traveling a head of me. I guess people had the same idea and I got stuck in a crowd with people. I sat in wagon waiting for the crowd to move. I heard some people yelling at with other telling to move forward. As the day moved, the crowd hasn't move. I finally decide to walk around thinking on what to do. Finally the crowd started to move a lot more faster. I got in top of my wagon while my oxen moved the wagon. I met a person who was willing to take me across the Kanas River. His name was Mark and he took to his raft. While we were camping out, the 3 daughter decided to cook something for everyone. They gave a sample taste to the 2 son that were near them. Foam started to come out of their mouth fast like a horse running and all of the grown up came as fast as they could. One of the boy dropped to the ground, while the other boy was holding his neck. We all tried to help the boy. We made him swallow coal ashes and gave them some water to drink. The dad of the daughter came and taste the ingredients separately. We later found out from the dad that the two daughter used rotten tomatoes to cook the food. The daughter apologized for their trouble mistake and all the grown ups forgive them for their mistakes. Luckily no of the boys died to poison food. We finally reach Alcove Springs. The view of the place was beautiful. The blue water was clear and next to it was trees. I went and touch the clear blue water and it was cold. The whole placed was filled with a bunch trees that looked amazing. They had green leaves and they looked untouched. The group decided to setup camp next to the water so they have an easier way to transfer water. The group decide they will stayed there for two day so they can be
