Who should have the right to choose whether a person gets a chance at life? One of the most intensely debatable topics around the world today is abortion. By definition, “abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by removing a fetus before it can live outside the uterus.” (“Abortion”, Wikipedia) While there are countless people who are wholly for abortion, others like myself believe that abortion is morally offensive and entirely wrong. According to the Bible, God is the Creator and if he sees fit to breathe life into one’s existence, then why should that human being not have a chance to experience life on earth? Should not God be the one to decide? In Psalm 139:13, 15-16, it says “For you (God) created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.” (NASB Ps. 139:13, 15) Abortion is immoral because it is manslaughter. In Exodus chapter 21, there is clear teaching on the punitive consequences of harming a mother and her unborn child.
