It is good that we made the indians move. We should have the indians leave because they have treated us badly and the have killed innocent people, fought us in war, and more. My first reason we should make the Cherokee move is because they killed the innocent. At the time we were at war with them and they were killing the men in war, but instead of them only killing them, they went around and killed harmless men, women, and children. In the news article “Move the Cherokee to Indian Territory” by Jack Andrews says “ In one incident during the War of 1812, the Creek Indians massacred more than 300 men, women and children when they captured Fort Mims in Alabama.” See they didn’t make them move, they killed them! They killed over 300 people for no reason which I think is outrageous because they couldn't do anything to you anyway. The article also says “In many cases their victims were scalped alive and even burned at the stake.” This is probably some of the worst cases of getting killed someone could go through. When your scalped alive your skin is ripped off your head to where you can see your skull. This is extremely painful and cruel to the people that did not do anything to them. See chiefs of the Cherokee signed the treaty of New Etocha. This treaty was a legal document saying that they would move. Get this, we gave them a lot of land and $5 million just so they would go. We wanted them to move but they didn’t so we came up with a solution. We said they could live in georgia as long as they followed the U.S laws and government. Some indians agreed to this but some didn’t. This created a problem and got brought to court. The court ruled that we couldn't force them out.
