In Sophocles’ “Antigone” he makes a great interpretation of a tragic drama. Many conflicts can be found within different varieties of plays. One of the many conflicts in “Antigone” would include men versus women. The conflict begins when Antigone buries her brother Polyneices who was considered a traitor to King Oedipus of Thebes. Creon is the tragic hero because he displays all the characteristics such as, excessive pride, self-righteousness, and sexiest. Creon is the tragic character in “Antigone.” At first Sophocles portrays Creon as just a leader. For one, Creon already has all the power he wants. He has this power because he was Oedipus’s wife’s brother. But at the end of the play Creon’s excessive pride has taken over him,
