Implications of empowerment and delegation in a criminal justice organization Contemporary criminal justice organizations are proactively delegating tasks and promoting empowerment. Leadership, team building, strategic planning, and empowerment are the key factors involved in contemporary policing. Teamwork and empowerment are interrelated, just as things and people are. Managing is relative to things like statistics, physical resources, money, costs, and time organization. Leading is all about people, their vision, vitality, service, teamwork, communication, and empowerment. There are four vital components of empowerment which are: participation; delegation; capitalization; and trust. Trust forms the foundation of empowerment and participation, delegation, and capitalization are all dependent upon trust. More than anything else, empowerment is a relationship which is dependent upon trustworthiness (Whisenand and Ferguson, 2009).
