I am interested in studying Criminology at Northeastern University because I want to learn more about the causes and consequences of crimes. Growing up, seeing my dad as a law enforcement officer, was one of the awesome moment of my life since then I have decided to venture into Criminal Justice. My dad taught me to be independent, live up to expectation, dedicated to what I know how to do best, honest and above all loyal. Although my dad is dead, his teachings kept me going, which made my interest in Criminal Justice stronger than ever. My ultimate goal is to understand how crime affects the society and why people commit crime. I am looking forward to review what crime is, what exactly is classified as criminal behavior and why some criminals think they can get away with crime. I have learnt to work in a team and increase my skills which I know will help me be an ideal candidate for Northeastern University and also a better criminologist. In addition I have a passion in writing and reading; but as much as I love reading, my interests in books are non-frictions because crimes are reality and they happen every seconds of the day. I love to do research on crimes and anything concerning criminal justice. My social science research class developed my interest toward research and its methods. I will ultimately like to pursue this interest at Northeastern University because research is one of the main criteria in being a better criminologist, and upon completion of my Masters in Criminology, to be gainfully employed where I will utilize my skills and knowledge I had obtained at Northeastern University probably in the criminal research
