When reviewing the Critical Race Theory materials that were discussed in class, there was one strong connection between Charles Mills’s “Metaphysics of Race” and Alasdair MacIntyre’s narrative justice framework. Mills’s discussions of racial and quace systems are based on hierarchy of power according to racial groupings. The groups that are not superior need to be accommodated in order to fight the injustices in our society. Ideally, these groups should allow justice to be measured and appropriately balanced, but our society uses these groupings for establishing a social hierarchy. The existence of these racial categories does show unique differences within each group, and this should be accounted for. MacIntyre’s narrative justice framework
