My partner and I are both interested in pursuing our career in the health profession. Therefore, we both have very similar experience in volunteering and research field. In our resume and job application letter, we both mentioned our experience in research as well as our volunteering at Carle hospital in details. The second similarity is that we both have a good balance in research, volunteering, and leadership. The first main difference is that her resume is not as packed as mine. Her resume is much easier to read and her organization is much easier to follow compared to mine. Second of the main differences is that in the body paragraph of her job application letter. She focused on one of her experience that is tailored to the job description. She gave a very detail description of her research experience. In comparison, my body paragraph is more into an overall of my experiences with much less detail. After readying her job application letter, I think I would like to adopt her structure of the letter and focus on two of the most important experiences that are related to the job. …show more content…
For example, I was able to give advice on writing experience with Carle hospital since we both volunteered there before. Also, with our similar background, we are more likely to know the process of applying for a health-related job in comparison to business or engineering. However, it will be interesting to work with a peer who has different academic experience. This is because we would be able to provide fresh thought into the application. Since it is very different to our own filed, we can provide ideas that are outside of the box.
