Cross country is a sport of endurance, heart and community. In high school, the races are 3.1 miles long and go very fast, especially for the runner. Running makes us feel and look good. Cross country is an unusual sport because it's all based around running, but really it gave me the skills and friends I have and use today. Running gives a nice, toned tanned body. Running cross country trains the body to be able to endure the pressure training, racing and even every day activities other than running. Cross country is my favorite sport because running releases endorphins, which is also known as getting a runners high, allowing us to run for longer, and to enjoy it. Not only did I gain endurance and heart from running, I also gained friends and family for life. Like before, running isn't always serious, some days we have free days where we play ultimate Frisbee, sharks and minnows, and capture the flag (on hills of course). Team bonding is also a enormous part of cross country, if a team isn't close, then the team cannot win. In racing, when by a teammate, we use synergy. Synergy is using energy from a teammate as your own to keep pushing through and along with them. As you can see this is my favorite sport because it gave me skills I need in the future for team building, to become a hard worker and it gave me a toned body and a tan. Running will always be a huge part of my life due to the set of skills and friends it has given me. There isn't another sport like cross country, nothing can push us as hard as running miles on miles
