In our life we encounter many people and sometimes we form special bonds with them, we form relationships with them. Students are a big part of a teacher’s professional life and this is why teachers form relationships with their students; this relationship is a major part of their career and can define many aspects of themselves as a teacher. “Crow Lake” by Mary Lawson and “Students” by Tom Wayman both describe the professional relationship of teachers and their students. Both the poem, “Students”, and the short story, “Crow Lake”, follow a similar theme; consequently, they have many similarities, but also many differences concerning the teachers’ relationships with their students and vice versa.
