Cruelness inside In Lord Of The Flies by William Golding, British boys crash landed during World War II with no adults. They have to adapt and learn from the island, and find ways to eat. The hunters are made up of the choir group and one of the members is Roger. Roger is frequently defined as sadistic but cruel defines him a lot better than sadistic. Being cruel means that a person is willfully hurting someone without concern. He nevers shows guilt while hurting anyone, but it never states that he likes hurting others making the word sadistic incorrect. From beginning to end, Roger has been cruel and mean. He was mean to the littluns while he was in Ralph’s tribe he was mean to the littluns but when Jack took over he hurt everyone he could.
