How Cruelty is Used for Plot Development in Night
Cruelty is an important topic when it comes to the Holocaust. In Night by Elie Wiesel, cruelty is used to develop several themes in the novel. While the Nazis are much crueller than any of the prisoners, some caused harm to others in order to help themselves.
One of the themes in Night is dignity in the face of inhuman cruelty. The Nazis constantly mistreat the Jewish people, yet most of them are still kind towards each other.
