Much Ado About Nothing Much Ado About Nothing is a play written by Shakespeare in 1598. The play uses different type of writing, therefore it can sometimes be confusing as to what some of the phrases mean. For example, “Scratching couldn't make his face worse - not if he looked liked you. “Basically, the meaning of this sentence is telling a person that they are ugly, as Beatrice is telling Benedict that he is unattractive, hideous, and unappealing. This was said by Beatrice, who is appointing the insult to Benedict. Secondly, “Against my will, I have been sent to bring you in to dinner.” is another example of how Beatrice was being rude once more to Benedict. As she expressed anger, by rudely inviting him to join them at the dinner table. Beatrice did not wish to do so, but she still did because she was asked to. In result, this caused Claudio to feel guilt and a shame. By doing this, Benedict had accomplished to make Claudio feel regret of what he did and said to Hero. Beatrice is one of the main characters in Much Ado About Nothing. She is sharp, witty, brave, and strong. She is also related to Hero. I would like to be Beatrice because she fights for what she thinks is right. She has motivation and doesn’t give up. For example, she was thoughtful and concerned about her cousin, Hero, when she was humiliated in public by Claudio, Beatrice stood up for her and gave him a lecture on how to treat a woman. Overall, she is a independent woman and is a
