Cultural Comparisons

The first country that I want to compare is Indonesia. Reasons that I want to compare because I was born in Jakarta,Indonesia. It is also the place where I grew up . I have families and friends who live there. Another country that I want to compare is United States because, it is the place where is study and live right now. And the last one is Sweden, because I hear that Sweden is a nice place to live but high cost of living and it is also a beautiful place. From all of the 3 countries, Indonesia has the biggest dimension of power distance which means Indonesia has the most inequalities among other social life. I really can see the difference in Indonesia to the other two countries. In my countries,Indonesia, people with more power tend to abuse it and use it for their own goods. I aslo heard someone says that in my country, the people who already rich, will getting richer, while people with poor condition, will get more poor. The conditioni of equal rights in my country still small compare to Sweden with good amount of equality. Second part of comparison is at individualism which Indonesia score the lowest and America at the highest. In the Geert Hofstede website, they put example for Indonesia, about marriage. It is common for Indonesia that before you marry you need to meet the partner parents and have an agreement with them. In Indonesia, the majority of the decision that the country make always based in a group decision making, not by the president alone, but with the voice of the politics and the people. The third part is masculinity which Sweden score the lowest which means Sweden has the feminim society which means they have good life and work balance. They support each other and helping each other while America score the highest and follow by Indonesia. The higher the score means the masculine the country which is they meant to become the best from other while focusing for themselves. Mean while for Indonesia, with quite high schore of masuline doesnt mean they focus too mcuh for themselves, but Indonesia focus just to make they look good in front of others, not for all parts.
