In today’s world, cultural diffusion can sway our reasoning in positive and negative ways. The expansion of migration and urbanization may have really had a positive effect on our nation if we really comprehend how it works and what we gain out of it. If migration continues to increase it will have a positive outcome because it is not only beneficial to us but to those who migrate over. Cultural diffusion is where different, unique cultures are spread into different areas of the world Incorporating different beliefs and innovations (Di Stefano-Dowdy). In today’s world cultural diffusion is everywhere we go, it is in the restaurants we eat at, the clothing stores, the schools, etc. Cultural diffusion influences our world with examples like …show more content…
Some cultures may not like the ideas and beliefs that other cultures may have and this could lead to war also as people travel to spread new ideas and beliefs and look for a new place to live they might bring diseases with them like the smallpox, the Bubonic plague, and many more diseases undiscovered and untreated bringing the diseases from who knows where and place the disease in another region unwillingly and affecting a population. Now the good that comes from all this negative is that the discovery of a new disease can be made and medications and vaccinations can be invented to prevent future infections that may come back (Di …show more content…
When populations of people keep growing, the population of people may spill over from city to nearby areas. Urbanization is a positive even though many may disagree, it transforms a town into a city which causes more public transportation to be viable, reducing the transportation of individual cars which make the air pollution worse. Health risks of air pollution is very serious and the horrible air quality increases respiratory problems like asthma and bronchitis, making life threatening problems higher. Particulate matter has been responsible for up to 30,000 premature deaths each year (Union of Concerned Scientists). Also urbanization helps because there are people coming from different place who are different cultures who come to live in a very cultural diverse area: this educates people in a way because they can learn new things about other cultures that they never knew before for example the types of food that certain cultures can and cannot eat also the type of languages that certain cultures speak and possibly along the way creating a bond with someone and becoming good friends with that
