Cultural Similarities Between Honduras And Puerto Rico

Have you ever traveled outside the United States? Since I've been in the military I have been able to travel to more than ten different countries around the world. I have had the pleasure to see how they live, what they do for fun and experience their culture in first hand. Even that I have visited so many different countries in my life, nothing was like visiting the two Hispanic countries, Honduras and Puerto Rico.
While Honduras is located in Central America and Puerto Rico is in the Caribbean both countries share the same language of Spanish, however, they have different accent and dialect. In Puerto Rico you will hear local people speak Spanish around the whole island, in contrast Honduras even that main language is Spanish there is a strong presence of Garifuna language among the black people from Honduras as part of their culture. The Garifuna language is unique, the people that know it do not like to share or teach outsiders as that language is part of their culture.

In Honduras soccer is huge, every city has its own team, and some cities even have more than one team that represent and area of that city. When you go to a game the crowd even bring fireworks that the light up during the game. Unlike Honduras, Puerto Rico main sports are baseball and basketball. Every city only has one team and when you go to a game of baseball or basketball in Puerto Rico its more organized they do not light up any fireworks as it is illegal. Another similarity that this country has when you go to a stadium is that people bring percussion instrument to make music for their team
