Teenagers are believed to be ill-mannered and as a result of that most communities try to create ways for teenage freedom to be reduced. A city council is debating the option of adopting a midnight curfew for the kids and a 10 P.M. weekday curfew for the teens as well. Adoption of curfews for teenagers unfairly interferes in young people's lives, because it makes them less productive, it affects their personal lives and more importantly it makes them almost useless in ensuring that the city is secure. I am a teenager, and I can proudly say that the little work I do during the weekdays and at weekends gives me fulfillment, knowing that I can make money and likewise spend it, but, in as much as, I am benefiting from the little work I do I am also aware …show more content…
My mum, who is a nurse, told us on one summer night of how she needed to get food for one of her clients at midnight who had no food at home, but luckily she saw a small burger shop run by a teenager and got food for the sick client. Every city needs every bit of worker it can get. Everyone has their personal lives, whether it is religiously, socially or in any way. I believe that no curfew should be imposed on teenagers if it affects them personally. Teenagers should have the freedom to go wherever they want to; a church, mosque, or even to meet with friends, and not stopped by a curfew. I have a friend who takes his religion so seriously that sometimes he goes for his religious meetings late at night because he feels they are necessary for his well-being; I think the government should not interfere with his religion by imposing a curfew on teens, besides if a person above 20 years of age can enjoy his religious rights freely why not teens. Nobody can tell the future or see the entire city at a glance and as a result of that, there are always unprecedented occurrences in the society; among all the points given I see this as the most important of them all, because people actually lose their
