Curtis Stone was born November 4th, 1975 in Melbourne Australia. His grandma was the one who first inspired him to be a chef and taught him his first recipe. He first attended Victoria University until he dropped out to pursue his cooking career. His first job as a chef was working at The Savoy Hotel’s 5 star restaurant in Melbourne before he moved to Europe with a close friend of his. He arrived in London with no money and no job but he wanted to gain experience, so he volunteered to work for free at The Grill Room Café Royal with Chef Marco Pierre White. His goal was to be able to work for White and would do whatever it took to get the job. Stone got the job eventually and worked there for 2 years. His first appearance was on an Australian TV show called “Surfing the Menu” in 2003, where him and a fellow chef traveled along the Australian coastline and cooked locally grown food. About 3 years later, he made his own cooking show called “Take Home Chef” on TLC. His show became so popular that he signed a deal with NBC, where he appeared on The Biggest Loser, The Today Show and was the co-host of Americas Next Great Restaurant. Later, he co- hosted on the TV show Top Chef Masters and also co-hosted Around the World in 80 Plates. Stone’s achievements and publicity doesn’t stop here, in 2008 he launched a line of cooking products and cooking pans which were sold all over the world.
