CYC Scope of Practice The practice of Child & Youth Care centres on enhancing and promoting positive emotional, behavioural and social changes within children and youth who are experiencing difficulties within their personal lives. Child and Youth workers help child and youth with complicated needs such as working in a group home, residential treatment centres, hospitals, community mental health clinics, school based programs, family support programs and private practices. A CYC/CYW works in several different settings and have a wide range of skills and abilities when it comes to working with families and children/youth.
