Victory can be a good and bad thing, in the case of the Haitian revolution it was a great thing. The Haitian revolution began in 1791 and ended in 1804. This revolution started because of the increase in slavery in Haiti, as the French and British began to bring more and more slaves over the slave population grew. As we all know there is power in numbers, the former slaves began to get fed up . Slaves were tired of the abuse and the long back breaking days that they had to endure, a lot of slaves died from lack of food and proper care. A particular slave got fed up and decided to take action on it.

Toussaint l'Ouverture was the son of a former slave they both were very educated and aware if the things going on around them. Toussaint l'Ouverture was eventually freed because of his knowledge and how smart he was as he was settling down with his wife and kids something changed his life. August, 22 1791 a group of slaves set fire to fields and plantations also killing whites this was known as “the night of fire” . Toussaint l'Ouverture decided that he needed to join and fight with them.

Although the people in “ Julius Caesar” did this with little motivation and little reason, and the former slaves in the Haitian revolution had a valid reason to revolt.
