Dales Senior Center The Dale Senior Center is located in downtown Riverside, off Brockton Ave. This center is gated and has private security, which makes it a very safe place for the seniors to attend. Dale Center offers a number of services to those who attend, for example a current events and Spanish class were underway while we visited the center. This paper will further discuss the other services offered. For those who would like to have an event such as a wedding, the center is also available and has the items needed to accommodate.
Dales Population and Hours of Service The population that uses the Dale Senior Center are from the greater Riverside area. All seniors must be over 55 years old in order to benefit from the center and the services provided. The center is …show more content…
They are closed on major holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving. Unfortunately the center is also closed on the weekends to seniors because it is open for private events like weddings, large work events, or family gatherings.
Services Offered Dales Senior Center offers a variety of services to the Riverside elderly residents. Research shows that older adults that participate in senior center programs delayed the onset of chronic illnesses, helping them physically, socially, mentally and spiritually. Starting with Exercise and Wellness program this facility offers chair exercises, chair volleyball, walking programs and yoga to keep our seniors healthy and active. Aside from all these physical activities there is also a gym that is open for them to access during the week at their convenience. There is also a lifelong program that offers basic Spanish classes on Fridays for one hour and English as a second language on Mondays for two hours. Many activities are offered for socialization opportunities
