“Dally’s Character” Have you ever loved and cared about someone so much that you would do anything for them?In the story, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton even a tough character like Dally realizes that it is okay to love someone. Dally one of the main characters has a different character in the end then in the beginning. He learns that it is okay to be like this and you need to find your real self. He shows that you can love and care for someone but still act tough. In the beginning of the story he was mean, did not care about anyone, and was tough. In the end of the story he was tough, a hero, and knew how to love someone. He learns how to find his real character and that all in all he was a hero.

Dally is very committed to the Greasers. He shows that he will do anything for them like beat the socs. “Dally was waiting for Johnny and me under the street light” Ponyboy says.This proves my topic on many reasons. It proves it by how Dally is committed to the greasers. He saw them like every day. When they were going to go to the movies he waited there for them even though they were a little late.This also proves that they are much younger than he is and he watches over them and lets them do things with him.

He has more experience meaning he had to grow up faster.“Well, wait a sec and I’ll see what I can do about this mess.” This explains my point because it shows that Dally is the fixer. After Johnny had killed Bob, him and Ponyboy were very scared and did not know what to do. They went to Dally because they knew if anybody could help them it would be Dally. When they went to the house that he came out and brought them in to give them a gun, money, and a change of cloths for Ponyboy. This really shows that he cared and helped them. He put his criminal life at risk because he knew that he might get caught for doing that, but he did not care because he wanted to help
