I interviewed Damon Flowers. He was born in 1973 and grew up in Amarillo with his parents Gary and Cathy Flowers. He played soccer and other sports including, football, wrestling, and skiing. One of his personal goals was to become an Eagle Scout where he learned many life lessons, which helped him on his hero’s journey. It was his goal to become an Eagle Scout and he had many experiences along the way. He worked various jobs through college and after college before starting two businesses of his own.

Damon Flowers didn’t have a lot of friends growing up. He pushed people away when it came to him, he got picked on and got into fights every once in awhile where he got a bunch of scars and bruises. When he was Amarillo, he also learned to wrestle. Mr. Flowers became captain of the wrestling team where he learned many lessons from all of the fights he got into. Damon wished he could go back and make better choices for his hero’s journey. He faced many physical challenges along his journey as well, including breaking many bones. This also included breaking his back from a massive cliff he had ventured towards to strive for meaning in his life. He was also diagnosed with a benign brain tumor just as he was starting his own business.

He learned many things and grew very spiritual through reading hundreds of books on business, the mind, and spirituality. Mr. Flowers now helps his kids grow through many of the same personal challenges he had in school. He tries to help them to get even better and more successful than he did in life.
