In the video, Dare to Disagree, Heffernan (2012) argued Joe was what a lot of people might think of as a whistleblower, except that like almost all whistleblowers he wasn’t at all, he was passionately devoted to the organization and the higher purposes that that organization served. Leaders and followers do not like to be called derogatory names. However, as, doctoral candidates/leaders and followers, we may dislike conflict, but we must stand up when we disagree with other leaders or followers and take the risk of being called out of a given name.
Leaders and followers must develop character and speak out regardless of the situation be right or wrong. Sometimes, we find that all the individuals had the same questions and doubts Heffernan (2012).
