When I use to work for a daycare, what I planned for a new infant or toddler in my environment would be that to have the folders all ready before the family comes through the door. I would also have made sure that all the required paperwork was in the folders like the days we were open, contact information of each assistant, and the hours we were open. So, that we could discuss it later in the visitation and if there were any questions at the end, that I and the family can look at the visual so I can explain it better to them. My cousin and I would give the parents a tour of the daycare and all the other rooms to ensure that we do care about their child and the safety of the child. We use to show all the locks, gates, toddler proof knob covers, and that we always cleaned the daycare before and after the last child leaves.
Some of the steps that I took to be sure that the family and child felt welcome was discuss the needs of the child to the parents. The reason why we did this is because in case there were special needs, health issues, or beliefs that we should know about. So, that we can see what we could do to work with the child and the family and show that we respect their parental views and beliefs. So, she can be occupied while we had to attend to the thing and made sure it was done correctly. I think the strategy that could make this easier would have to be to see a child with a medical professional that is by her side or comes every hour to help her instead of the staff. Even if we did the right way the first time, there could be a time where something could have majorly gone wrong and we would be to blame. I feel if there was a medical professional, they know what to do if something majorly gone wrong better than us even if we read it multiply
