Although there are many reasons why it was difficult to settle in Charles Town there are only few that were the main reason. Charles Town was difficult to settle due to many reasons including, hostile animals always hunting and keeping settlers up at night, spreading of disease like smallpox, and bad weather like flooding.The first and biggest reason would be that wild animals would keep them up at night as the animals would be hunting for food (doc C). A good reason why it was difficult to settle in Charles Town is the spreading of smallpox that had happen due to there being so many people on the ships (doc E).
