Describe How Industrialization Impacted Children

Children were enslaved by factory workers, worked long hours in unsafe conditions, and lived in the lowest places. Industrialization is what changed everything for the children. They were suddenly able to get schooling and were finally able to help their families without risking their lives to do so. Industrialization took away the ability for factory workers to enslave children, unsafe working conditions, terrible living conditions and brought schooling and a safe workplace.

Many children, young children, were enslaved by the factory workers and forced to work with dangerous machinery. The jobs the children were given were meant for adults, but were given to kids younger than ten. The

They were suddenly able to go to school without having to worry about if they would have food on the table. Schooling was now required and precautions were made so that the children would only be able to work so long. Children who were once enslaved in the factories are now going to schools and receiving their education. “No child under the age of fourteen years shall be employed…” (doc 2b). The Laws of 1913 protected the children's right to both an education and child labor hours.

In many ways, the children were also able to help their families. They were able to help their fathers tend to the farm, which provided not only a source of money, but food as well. “Nothing herein contained shall prevent a person engaged in farming from permitting his children farm work upon his farm” (doc 2b). The Laws of 1913 changed everything for the children. They were now able to go to school, but also work at home and provide for their families.

Industrialization had huge impacts on child labor. Children were once forced to work long hours in dangerous conditions, but after Industrialization and the laws that came with it children were given a new life. They have been able to receive the education and work without compromising their health and wellbeing. Industrialization has taken away child labor and brought children a safe workplace, at a safe age, and free education for all
