As an american citizen I strongly believe that the us should accept refugees because it's the message we’ve put out to the public. Those who need help will receive our help. If we were to not take them in we’d be contradicting ourselves with our american values, the fact that we’ve made this our humanitarian duty. Instead people forget about the ways we’ve put ourselves in this position to be the land of hopes and dreams and rather let the violence and terrorism of other countries affect our actual beliefs on helping everyone who needs help.

As an american they’ve taught us to never deny any help to anyone who's in need of it. In document 5 it says “Anxiety and fear can't advise our political decisions” what they mean by this is that, just because there might be some negativity coming with a situation or a person you don't turn your back when they need help, they’re counting on the us and its opportunities to better themselves and become strong again. This connects to document 9 because this document explains how we cannot deny help to those who are trying to do better for themselves. In document 9 it says “We have always welcomed immigrants and refugees, we have made people feel that if they did their part, they sent their kids to school, they worked hard, there would be a place for them in america.” This means that if one's doing their part there is no reason that we shouldn't be helping them out in any way that they may need, You must attend to their needs. We need to take care of everyone even if they come with problems because after all those who are citizens in the U.S also come with plenty of violence and it's very rare if you see a U.S citizen get sent out of state due to
