“Lord of the Flies,” and “LOST” relate to the same thing even though they were 70 years apart from each other. They both go through hard times and deaths. Were these deaths murders? Could they have just been accidents? You would need so much evidence to prove whether or not these were murders, but if they were, who was guilty? Who was innocent? There was one death in “LOST,” and 2 deaths in “Lord of the Flies” so far. This discussion will have an opinion on whether or not these could have been murders or accidents. In LOST a man named Marshal Edward Mars ( Edward) had died. He had a sharp object wounded in his stomach from the plane crash. In Document A, it defines murder in many ways. The way murder was used in Edward’s death is second degree murder. Second degree murder is murder by intent but without deliberation or premeditation. The first sad upsetting death was Simon. The boys will always do what they like to call “hunters dance.” The hunters dance is where they would walk in a circle holding up blood weapons. Things got out of hand when they thought they had seen the beast in the forest. The boys lunged forward with their blood weapons and started attacking the “unknown beast.” They were so caught up in their imagination and didn’t even realize what they were attacking. When the “beast” had finally came out of the forest some of the boys were confused as to why the beast was so small. Simon had came out all bloody and wounded and died. Once the boys realized they were actually attacking Simon they were devastated. They didn’t know what to think. This was very uncivilized.
